Friday, September 16, 2011Today we are devoting the workout of the day to a great lady. Recently, I had the opportunity to treat a patient who was an amputee. She had suffered a right above knee amputation due to cancer in the lower portion of the right leg. She was referred to the clinic to improve her walking, functional status and eventually her ability to return to running, cycling and swimming, which she loved so much. Pamela McQuitty, 44, went to be with her maker on September 14, 2011. She was a great athlete and more importantly a great person. She helped me with one of my doctorate projects and was always positive about her situation. Her eventual goal was to get back to sport and do a triathlon and support the community of para-athletes. Remember her and her family when you do this workout today.
