"Welcome back to that same old place that you've thought about..."-Welcome Back Kotter
Oh, that familiar place. This is the feeling we all never forget. It is that,"I think I'm gonna die feeling." BTW, we never actually do. But, no matter how often I do CrossFit WOD's, I still get that nervous, overwhelmed feeling. This is actually not only mental but also physiological. When training CrossFit style, there is an incredible nuero-endocrine response with a spike in hormonal activity. This creates an "adrenaline rush" that is hard to explain to others. This in turn is then translated into an emotional response that you remember when training returns again.

Courtney after his baseline-Worshiping at the Pukie Throne!
The affect the high intensity, constantly varied, functional movement has on the human metabolic system is un-deniable! Thanks to Robbie for his great effort in his first baseline at the box! Robbie is a long time friend and decided to give CrossFit a go. He has referred several people to our box while practicing in his Financial Counseling business. If you need a great Financial Coach, this is the guy to see! He has a creative and innovative way to get it right for you and your finances. Check him out at, http://financialcoachingforlife.com.
Just some clean up business around the box. Members now have to log-in to the blog to comment. See the log-in button on the top right of the navigation bar. This is due to recent spam traffic in our blog and increased hits on our site. We apologize for the inconvenience but it will keep our blog clean. Also, congrats to Matt McKillip for turning out a PR in Fran of 4:38. Way to go Matt, solid work!

On-Ramp Series - Charlie and Reed doing dumbbell snatches!
Check out this video for interesting information on John Durant who was recently interviewed on The Colbert Nation-Colbert Report! The video is further evidence that the so-called "cave man diet", or paleo-diet is becoming more mainstream everyday.
Also, this week we will be wrapping up our Food Challenge. Measurements, CrossFit Total and Fran Times will be taken on Friday and Saturday. If need be, we will carry over Fran to Monday of next week. Put this on your schedule for this week!
Also, we will be posting our own shoulder mobility video to better help our athletes warm-up their shoulders and prevent common shoulder problems common to athletes that do overhead work. Keep your eyes out for this video!
