I couldn't resist but say something on the blog this am. I probably should have posted it on the Food Blog but I wanted to make sure everyone would see it here. When I got home last night, I sat down to veg for a minute and there was a show on called, Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. He was trying to introduce normal whole foods into a public school system. As I watched him interact with the administrative staff of the school, cooks and others, I was amazed at how far we have come from providing our most precious possession, our children, with the resources needed to live a healthy and productive life, good food! The kids did not even know how to use eating utensils. They had been eating processed and packaged food for so long, that they did not know how to eat properly. We have a society full of short cuts, take the easy road, and settle for second best attitudes. How can we accept this when it comes to our children? I can't! Take the information that we teach you in your CrossFit training about proper nutrition and share it with your family. Will they like it at first, maybe not. My kids don't like everything healthy we serve, but they are eating healthier than ever before, and they can independently make good decisions between good or bad food choices. Isn't that our job, to train our children in the way that they should go, so when they are old they won't depart from it? Be a vanguard for change and join the food revolution to eat healthy food!
