On-Ramp Series - Charlie and Reed doing dumbbell snatches!
Check out this video for interesting information on John Durant who was recently interviewed on The Colbert Nation-Colbert Report! The video is further evidence that the so-called "cave man diet", or paleo-diet is becoming more mainstream everyday.
Also, this week we will be wrapping up our Food Challenge. Measurements, CrossFit Total and Fran Times will be taken on Friday and Saturday. If need be, we will carry over Fran to Monday of next week. Put this on your schedule for this week!
Also, we will be posting our own shoulder mobility video to better help our athletes warm-up their shoulders and prevent common shoulder problems common to athletes that do overhead work. Keep your eyes out for this video!

Darin w/ Clayton -"Franabration"
It is not often that I brag on our coaches. But I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our coaches, Clayton, Tina, Matt, and Miles.
These guys have an unwavering desire to see you get better! That's it. It's that simple. We are here because of you. When want the best you to be developed at CF FTW.
Recently, Clayton and I have embarked on a new direction in training. Clayton has been a great training partner and friend. In Dutch's blog this week he asked what makes a good coach, or what qualities do you want your coach to have? It made me think of Clayton. Clayton is long suffering, honest, caring, a great athlete himself, knowledgeable and downright fun and friendly. He is willing to do whatever it takes to make you better. This blog is dedicated to Clayton Martin after he scored 4:01 on Fran yesterday. This is a minute and a half faster than his last Fran, smokin! Way to go dude!

Snatch lifts and Burgener Warm-Up progression went well yesterday. When performing the snatch or clean in a WOD, always perform the Burgener Warm-Up and other warm up exercises to ready yourself for the movements. The correct reproduction of these movements and their transitional parts will promote more efficient and safer movement in the lifts. It does take more time, and many athletes don't consider the warm up as important as the "actual" training session. But the warm up IS training! It is this attention to detail that will promote higher level capacity and athleticism. Isn't that our goal?

Chili Cook-Off fellowship!
We had a lot of skill work completed yesterday. We will be doing that more often. Great to see everyone working on movements and skills that they don't feel comfortable with. Keep bringing in the news about your paleo challenge! We have a little less than 2 weeks left, so finish strong!

Great effort during "Grace" last night with much improvement in times and movement. Everyone's capacity is continuing to improve. Take today to work on skill and then loosen up that connective tissue with an easy WOD!

February 2010 Member of the Month - Jeremy Bankes striking a Pose!
Jeremy joined us back in June 2009 and has been a great addition to the Crossfit Fort Worth family. He consistently wants to improve his lifting and conditioning performance. Jeremy comes to us from a background of High school and college sports and is quite the athlete. Since he joined the box, he has reduced his body fat, improved his body weight lifting capacity and continues to excel at the olympic lifts. Jeremy is always willing to help out with box events and provides support through his two Smoothie King Retail stores. Visit his stores on Hwy 377 and off of Pipeline Road near Northeast mall.
