Student Endurance WOD
No WOD today, event day. Get out there and get-u-some Bethesda Athletes! Pace yourselves, run smart and kick it into high gear at the end.
The crew at the gym yesterday gave a good showing in the benchmark WOD, "Fran." There were several PR's and improvements in scaling and doing the WOD prescribed. Fran is all about managing the work at a pacing level that will allow your body to tolerate the metabolic "storm" that you are experiencing. The more you do it, the more you figure out as an athlete what that tolerance level is and what pace you should start the first round in. Ultimately, getting better is our goal, and we had lots of that going on.
For those gym members that are participating in the MUD RUN, please go to the CrossFit FTW Endurance link on the home page for instructions for the run practice at the Eagle Mountain Trails on Sunday. Also, after the run, we are meeting at our house for a post-WOD cool down and food. Instructions regarding the post-WOD activities are listed there also.
I will be posting into the tool box general Paleolithic nutritional guidelines for pre- and post-event/WOD training. You can use these general guidelines to assist with preparation, recovery, and recuperation. The more defined your training becomes, the more defined your nutrition and rest resources need to be.
